Privacy Policy

eGuru — effective 10 July 2026

This policy describes how eGuru ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the eGuru mobile app and the web app at eguru.app (together, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, phone number and a 6-digit PIN (stored only as a secure hash) when you register or when the institute creates your account. Your phone number is verified with a one-time code sent on WhatsApp.
• Educational records — your course enrollments, lesson progress, quiz attempts and scores, assignment submissions, grades, instructor feedback and certificates.
• Content you upload — files and photos you attach to assignment submissions, and any profile or course media uploaded by instructors and staff.
• Payment records — for paid courses, administrative records of your enrollment payment status. Payments themselves are made outside the app (for example by bank/UPI transfer to the institute); the app never collects card, bank or UPI credentials.
• Technical data — basic logs (such as request timestamps and IP addresses) generated automatically when the app communicates with our servers, used for security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the Service: deliver course content, record progress, grade quizzes and assignments, issue certificates and show announcements and calendar events.
• To verify enrollment and payment status for paid courses.
• To send you service notifications, such as announcements from your instructors.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Your data is visible only to you and to authorized eGuru staff (your instructors and administrators) as needed to run your courses. We use infrastructure providers (server hosting) that process data on our behalf under this policy. We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. PINs are stored only as salted hashes, and one-time codes only as hashes with a short expiry. Study material is streamed inside the app with screen-capture protection. Access to personal data is restricted by role-based permissions and audit logging.

5. Retention

We keep your account and educational records while your account is active and for as long as needed to maintain academic records (for example, certificate verification). Technical logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.

6. Your rights — access, correction and deletion

You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and associated data at any time. See our account deletion page or email riseacademy777@gmail.com from your registered email address. We respond within 30 days. Certificates already issued may be retained in anonymized form for verification integrity.

7. Children

The Service is intended for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app. The effective date above always reflects the latest revision.
